Stingers Are Champs

The Nashville High School Stingers dance team competed in Springfield this weekend at the Illinois Drill Team Association competition and are the State Champions in Pom Dance.  They beat out 4 other teams for the title.  They also competed in Jazz against 6 other teams, but did not place.  They had qualified with top scores in Pom Dance and Jazz in Division A at the Edwardsville Contest in mid-January and had qualifying performances the week before at Belleville East.  Earlier in the season, they competed at the Althoff Contest and both Sarah Doerr and Allison Kirchner were named Rising Stars for their outstanding showmanship.
