The Nashville FFA Chapter recently attended the Southern Illinois County Farm Bureau’s FFA Acquaintance Day Program held at the end of last month, at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.  This year there were 344 FFA members in attendance, including the 14 from Nashville.  The program provided students with the opportunity to attend a variety of educational workshops including breakout sessions presented by county Illinois AITC Education Director Kevin Daugherty, where students learned various Ag in the Classroom programs to teach to young children.  Another was “The Farm Bureau Organization”, “Building your Bridge: Careers in Ag” and “FFA After High School”.  After workshops, students gathered for a few closing speakers.  As a result of the Nashville FFA Chapter’s participation, they are eligible to send one or more representatives to the 2014 Illinois Farm Bureau & Affiliates Youth Conference in early April at the Springfield Crowne Plaza.
