The BCMW Community Services, Incorporated will be awarding many scholarships worth $500 through their Block Grant Program. This is for low-income residents of Bond, Clinton, Marion and Washington Counties. There will be 10 of these scholarships, as well as a $500 scholarship in memory of C. Russell Rose, former BCMW Director and another $500 scholarship in memory of former Board Chair, Doris Clark. The scholarships are for next school year to an Illinois accredited 2-year college or vocational school or a 4-year college or university. It can go towards tuition, books and supplies, room and board, child care or transportation. Applicants must be a resident of one of the 4 counties and other criteria includes income, grade point average, a career goals statement and 3 letters of recommendation. An interview may follow.
