Christmas has long been over, but many trees were collected afterwards and it is time to do something to benefit the ecology at Carlyle Lake.  The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be sinking the trees in the lake on Saturday beginning at 8:30 AM at the Carlyle Sailing Association Boat Ramp at Eldon Hazlet State Park.  This Christmas tree recycling – fish habitat improvement project helps fish reef structures in the lake.  It will provide breeding areas, as well as sources of protection for young fish.  Volunteers are needed to assist in the placement of these trees, as well as volunteer their boats.  For more information, call 618-594-2484.
