Sixteen members of The Nashville FFA Chapter headed to Benton on March 12 to compete in the District V Proficiencies.  To advance to District members had to place in the top at Section proficiencies in January.  The Agricultural Proficiency Awards honor FFA members who, through their Supervised Agriculture Experience, have developed specialized skills that they can apply toward their future careers. Students can compete for awards in 49 areas covering everything from Agricultural Communications to Wildlife Management.  Each award area has two categories, placement and entrepreneurship. Placement proficiency awards are given to those whose SAEs are related to employment, apprenticeships, or internships at an agribusiness or agriculture-related organization. Entrepreneurship proficiency awards are given to those whose SAEs are related to ownership of an agribusiness or agriculture-related organization. Proficiency awards are given out at the section, district, state and national levels. This year twelve members placed 1st or 2nd these members include: Morgan Dodson-1st in Ag Communications, Brayden Barnett-2nd in Ag Mechanic Design and Fabrication, Kyle Schnitker-1st in Ag Mechanics Repair and Maintenance, KaeLynn Lamczyk-2nd in Ag Processing, Ana Harrison-2nd in Ag Sales, Kane Lamczyk-1st in Dairy Production Entrepreneurship, Josh Rynski-2nd in Diversified Crop Production Placement, Tricia Herrmann-1st in Diversified Horticulture,  Mark Dalman-2nd in Fiver and Oil Crop Production, Clark Wisely-1st in Forage Production, Bryce Paszkiewicz-1st in Poultry Production and Patrick Suchomski-1st in Swine Production Placement. Members who placed 1st will compete at state this June at the Illinois FFA State Convention.
