The Kaskaskia College Nashville Education Center is proud to announce that all Washington County Schools have all signed resolutions of support for the construction of the College’s Education Center in Nashville. Cathy Karrick, Director of Public Information for the College says the support is important to the campaign for the new building and shows that Washington County is behind the expansion. The schools include Ashley Elementary, Hoyleton Elementary, Immanuel Lutheran in Okawville, Irvington Elementary, Nashville Elementary and Nashville High School, Oakdale Elementary, Saint Ann Elementary, Trinity Saint John Lutheran, Trinity Lutheran in Hoyleton and West Washington CUSD. The schools were not asked to contribute financially to the project, just have the Board of Education approve of official support, but several have announced student groups within the schools are planning special fund raisers to assist with the project. As part of its capital campaign master plan, Kaskaskia College plans to expand the Nashville Education Center from its current location with 3,500 square feet of leased space to a building to be constructed at Route 127 and Exchange Avenue with 12,000 square feet of instructional and community space. The campaign to raise funds to begin construction are going on now.
