The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to fewer calls this week than last week with 4 of them assisting a motorist and 3 accidents, same as last week. Other calls included a scam call about Ameren instructing the person called to purchase a Greet D.O.T. card, an attempted email scam, theft in DuBois, the theft of a dirt bike and welder in rural Oakdale and arresting 20-year old Adam Malawy of Centralia for warrants Marion and Perry counties. One of the accidents occurred on April 2nd, as the deputies assisted the Nashville Police at the intersection of South Kaskaskia and Adams Streets, at the post office. Another accident occurred on April 3rd in the area of County Highway 29 and State Route 153. A vehicle driven by 60-year old Charles Wilson of Coulterville, went out of control and struck a tree. There was no mention of any injuries. The other accident involved a semi-tractor trailer truck shortly after 10 o’clock on April 3rd on Interstate 64 eastbound at mile marker 42. The semi cab remained upright, but the trailer flipped over and went off the road. The driver, Richard Radcliff of Culverson, North Carolina was uninjured.
