The Okawville Village Board met Monday night and Village Clerk Waylan Jasper says they moved the May meeting back a day, as it was scheduled on Memorial Day, so it will now be on the last Tuesday of the month at 7 PM. They approved closing Hanover Street from Sunset Street to a little past Memorial Drive to through traffic for up to a couple of months, as they will be pouring concrete for the road after school is out. For the second month in a row, they addressed liquor licenses says Jasper, as they approved the annual Class B Liquor Licenses for Circle K and Road Ranger and semi-annual liquor licenses for Plum Creek Golf Course, the American Legion, the Original Springs Hotel and a Class B for CBI Grocery. The Board also approved Haier Plumbing to replace the iron pipe at the old sewer plant for not more than $9,650. The also approved a couple days of comp-time for their secretary Dawn Moyer for doing the wage survey for the new water project on Front Street. They also approved the salary schedule for the New Year. There are 4 part-time employees in a range of zero to $24,999, while all the others are in a range of $25,000 to $49,000, but they did not give out specific amounts for each employee. There was a bid of $105 plus closing costs for the small property between the Okawville Times and Insurance Planning and Management, but it was voted down 4 to 2 by the Board.
