The Kaskaskia College Nashville Education Center project Steering Committee met yesterday at Kretzer’s Restaurant in Hoyleton.  Kathy Karrick, Director of Information tells WNSV that there has been a total of $514,538 raised, but there is still another $770,462 that needs to be raised before bids can go out to begin the construction of the new building on Route 127, next to Alco.  Fundraisers were discussed that includes a 5K Run and Cosmic Bingo, but they are just ideas at this point.  The hope is to get more donations, as they wanted to have the new center open by the 2015-2016 school year, but construction would need to begin soon for that to happen.  If you have any questions or would like to make a donation, contact Suzanne Christ at 618-545-3069.
