This weekend is Memorial Day Weekend, when many begin the summer. Heading up to Carlyle Lake to celebrate the beginning of summer is a good idea, as they have plenty of activities planned. There are biking and hiking trails, camping, fishing and boating to name a few. There are also educational programs about being safe in and on the water, what the Lake offers and one on snakes at the various campground amphitheaters. Saturday through Monday there are water safety games beginning at 2:30 PM on many of the beaches. The Visitor Center is open from 10 AM to 6 PM.
