The Washington County Courthouse Lawn concert series in Nashville sponsored by the Washington County, Illinois Arts Council is halfway through the 8 concerts, and it continues tomorrow night from 6 to 8. As if we haven’t had enough rain, this week it is Courtney Cox and the Rain Makers, but they don’t really bring rain, just good music says spokesman Rick Harris. Courtney is from the Benton area, while the rest of the band is from southern Illinois. They play lots of jazz with a big horn section, drums, keyboards, guitars and lead vocals. There will also be free refreshments of popcorn, lemonade, iced tea, sweet tea, water and maybe some cookies. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and sit underneath the shaded trees of the courthouse. There’s a chance of rain, but the concert will go on, it just will be held in Memorial Park in the large pavilion across the creek by the golf course.
