The Washington County FSA Office, reminds producers who file accurate and timely reports for all crops and land uses, including failed acreage, can prevent the potential loss of FSA program benefits.  In order to comply with FSA program eligibility requirements, all producers are encouraged to visit the office to file an accurate crop certification report by the applicable deadline.  2014 Cabbage planted between March 15th and May 31st, perennial forage (with an intended use of cover only, green manure, left standing, or seed) and all other spring seeded crops need to be reported by July 15th.  Cabbage planted between June 1st and July 20th need to be reported by August 15th.  Exceptions include if the crop has not been planted by these reporting dates, then the acreage must be reported no later than 15 calendar days after planting is completed.  Also, if a producer acquires additional acreage after the reporting dates, then the acreage must be reported no later than 30 calendar days after purchase or acquiring the lease.  Appropriate documentation must be provided to the county office.  If a perennial forage crop is reported with the intended use of “cover only,” “green manure,” “left standing,” or “seed,” then the acreage must be reported by July 15, 2014.  Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program policy holders should note that the acreage reporting date for NAP covered crops is the earlier of these dates or 15 calendar days before grazing or harvesting of the crop begins.  Conservation Reserve Program acreage must be reported to receive annual CRP rental payments.  Each CRP participant shall contact the office to certify their CRP Acres before July 15, 2014.  For more information contact the Washington County FSA Office, located at 424 East Holzhauer Drive in Nashville or call 618-327-8862 extension 2.
