The Washington County Sheriff’s Office was busy throughout the county, but only assisted 1 motorist, but did respond to 3 accidents. One accident was on Wednesday on U.S. Highway 51 near Nevada Road. 32-year old Ricarda R. Montalvo of Beckemeyer was cited for No Driver’s License and Operating An Uninsured Vehicle. On Friday, they responded to an accident on State Route 15 at U.S. 51, as 47-year old Thomas E. Glass of Mount Vernon struck a deer. On Saturday, they assisted the Illinois State Police with a single car traffic crash. There was no mention of any injuries in any of the accidents. A week ago, they began an investigation into a MIG Welder being stolen from location in Ashley. They reported to a vehicle and field fire in rural Okawville on Wednesday. They also responded to a call of a domestic dispute in rural Richview and suspicious activity in Beaucoup. They responded to several calls on Saturday. They responded to a call in rural Richview of suspicious activity as it was reported that a propane tank near a residence had been possibly tampered with. They also assisted the Nashville Police Department with the arrest of a female during a battery call. They arrested 25-year old Joshua R. Boldrey of Ashley on a Failure To Appear on a Washington County Warrant and a FTA in Fayette County on a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance and also responded to Madison Street in Ashley for a reported neighborhood incident. On Sunday, they investigated the theft of a 1992 black Harley Davidson motorcycle, stolen from a residence in Ashley and reported to a call in Clarmin for a reported stolen 4-wheeler. They also investigated a report of criminal trespass to a New Minden residence, as the residence had reportedly been ransacked and a fish tank was damaged, destroying the contents.
