A Belleville man is jailed on $100,000 bond after being accused of taking a 2-year old girl into a cold swimming pool and pummeling her.  The Belleville News-Democrat reports 25-year old Miguel Luna Junior is charged with aggravated battery and child endangering.  Saint Clair County sheriff’s Captain Scott Weymouth says the case surfaced early Sunday when deputies were called to the Belleville hospital where the girl’s mother had taken her to be treated for exposure to the cold and bruises.  He says investigators determined that a drunken Luna had taken the girl into the swimming pool about two hours earlier.  State child-welfare advocates say the girl and two other children are in relatives’ care.
