The Nashville Chamber of Commerce held their monthly General Membership meeting at Little Nashville yesterday.  President Elect Pam Smith introduced Director Deanna Ball, who then told the members what she wants to accomplish in the position, which is to get around tomeet every one of the Chamber members and all the businesses, because she wants to pull everyone back together and working for the city.  She says to call her any time a member needs something, as she is here for the Chamber members.  She went on to tell the Chamber that Staci Lockhart had resigned from the Presidency on September 2nd.  She updated everyone on the Fall Festival, which has 2 more planning committee meetings, in which everyone is welcome to attend.  After meeting last night, the Fall Festival committee has things all lined up and will not be meeting next Wednesday night.  The final meeting will be September 24th at 7 o’clock at the Chamber office to tie up any loose ends.  Brian Rusewski printed flyers for Fall Festival and they were available for members to put up in their establishments.  Volunteers will be needed Thursday afternoon and night for set up, as well as to man the Chamber booth and volunteer at the beer stand on both Friday and Saturday.  Call Ball at 327-3700 to sign up.  She reported that there was a nice ribbon cutting for Vintage Junkee on South Mill Street last Saturday.  It is owned by Rachel and Sara Meinert.  Check out their Facebook page.  There will be another ribbon cutting on Friday, September 19th at 4 PM at Roll N Up on the corner of Mill and Saint Louis Streets on the southwest corner of the 4-way.  They will also have a BBQ on the following day from 10 AM to 2 PM sponsored by the Moose Lodge.  New hours for the Chamber office are Mondays through Fridays from 9 AM to 3 PM, except for earlier on Thursday mornings during the Farmer’s Market season.  The idea of recognizing Chamber members with a plaque or window sticker to hang in their business was brought up.  Treasurer Darlene Schomaker said they stopped giving those out when the Chamber had no money to buy them anymore.  Ruth Barczewski of Kaskaskia College says they were a nice thing to have and display.  If anyone has some suggestions, contact the Chamber office.  In other news, Barczewski reported that Kaskaskia College will have an open house on Saturday, September 27th at the main campus in Centralia.  Angie Siddell of American Family Insurance reported that she has moved into her new office, located on the 200 block of South Mill Street, almost next to Hardees.
