The Washington County Board had a long meeting Tuesday night. Several reports from County Departments were provided and approved. The Ambulance and Rescue Service responded to 158 calls in August, down from 201 calls in July. They have responded to 1,456 since December 1st, so that is an average of 162 calls per month. The County Clerk & Recorder Office offers several services for a fee to residents of the county and other outside agencies, such as certified birth certificates, licenses and recording fees. In August, they had revenues of $37,957.35 from these fees and tax redemptions and stamps, up from $29,658.94 the previous month. The Sheriff’s report showed they made 14 arrests in August, down from 25 in July. Deputies issued 27 tickets, down from 40 tickets in July, while they issued 67 warnings in August, up from 62 the previous month.
