The Nashville Police Department responded to about a dozen calls in the past week. There was a fender bender on the Kaskaskia College Nashville Extension Center parking lot a week ago, but that was the only accident they were called to. Other calls included a complaint of a barking dog on the 300 block of East Alton Street, welfare checks on the 500 block of West Maple Street and on the 900 block of South Mill Street, a loose dog on the 800 block of East Briarwood Court, property damage on the 500 block of East Allen Drive, a noise complaint on the 700 block of South Mill Street, calls of suspicious activity on the 1,300 block of West Jefferson Drive and the 200 block of East Saint Louis Street. They arrested Jonathan DWight for Criminal Trespass to a vehicle on the 1,500 block of West Saint Louis Street on Friday. They made a traffic stop last Wednesday near the intersection of West Saint Louis Street and North Grand Avenue on a car driven by 26-year old Gabriel M. Browne of Okawville. He was given a verbal warning for speeding, but was arrested for Driving While License is Suspended or Revoked and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. They also initiated a traffic stop on Thursday at the Route 127 and Interstate 64 overpass on a vehicle and took 23-year old Jumor D. Reed of DuQuoin into custody for an outstanding Jackson County warrant.
