If you are heading to Mount Vernon tonight, be aware that the Mount Vernon Police Department will be a having roadside safety checks from 10 PM to 2 AM in the city. Authorities will be checking for impaired drivers as well as other driving offenses and hazards.  The funding for this safety check is made possible by the Mission Possible Coalition.
