Kaskaskia College will host its 7th Annual Family Reunion and Open House from 10 AM to 3 PM on Saturday, September 27th on the Main Campus. A wide variety of activities will be held throughout the day including a car-truck-tractor-motorcycle show at 10, music, demonstrations by many of KC’s programs, a kickball tournament at noon, free children’s activities including face painting, children’s theatre, storytelling, a hayride, crafts and inflatables. Visitors will also have a chance to participate in a selfie scavenger hunt with a chance to win a $200 gift card. The day also features the second annual Kaskaskia College Chili/Soup Cook-Off, featuring the culinary efforts of area chefs. Visitors will be allowed to sample each of the entries and vote on the winning chili and soup. The winning entry in both categories will receive a traveling trophy and bragging rights for one year. Cost for the bowls will be $6 for adults and $3 for children with proceeds going towards the Veterans Tribute at Kaskaskia College. The KC Nursing program will host its first annual Zumbathon at 10 AM. KC’s Cosmetology program will host princess makeovers at its clinic throughout the day. Those wanting to take part need to pre-register prior to the open house by calling 545-3321. A Kiddie Tractor Pull will be held with participants competing in four classes determined by weight at 10:30 AM. Food will also be available throughout the day with the proceeds benefiting the Veterans Tribute Project.
