The Washington County Sheriff’s Department was not as busy last week as they had been in the past weeks. They responded to 2 accidents and assisted 2 motorists. On Saturday, a car driven by 57-year old David G. Meier of Nashville, struck a deer on Route 15 near Beaucoup. On Monday, they responded to an accident on Interstate 64 near mile marker 54 involving 26-year old Rob R. Poston of Mount Vernon. There were no injuries reported or any citations issued. They also received a report of suspicious activity in rural Nashville a week ago, as well as a report of criminal damage to a parked car in Irvington. There was an abandoned vehicle on Highline Road in Ashley on Friday and a report of suspicious activity near Dubois. They assisted a resident of Addieville with a civil matter and removed debris from Route 15 east of County Highway 17. They also responded to a call of downed power lines in rural Hoyleton. They contacted Tri-County Electric Cooperative to get repairs begun.
