The Nashville Police Department didn’t have any accidents to report last Monday, but they did respond to some in the past week.  On Monday, there was an accident at East Gorman Street near South Heaman Street, as a Jeep driven by 37-year old Karen S. Bartling of Nashville, struck a Hummer driven by 69-year old Marilyn Taylor of Nashville.  There was no report of injuries or citations.  A few hours later, there was an accident at the intersection of East Chester and South Mill Street, as a vehicle driven by 62-year old Deborah L. Auld of Nashville was turning onto East Chester from Route 127, but turned too wide and struck a vehicle driven by 44-year old Melissa Riechmann of Hoyleton.  Again, there were no injuries or citations issued.  They also assisted the Illinois State Police with a 1-vehicle accident on Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 64 at mile marker 49.5 in the eastbound lane.  They assisted the Washington County Sheriff’s Department with an accident on Saturday morning on Mockingbird Road at North Grand Avenue.  They also found an abandoned vehicle on the 11,700 block of Route 127 last Monday, reported to vandalism on the 400 block of West Goodner Street, responded to a juvenile out of control on the 800 block of South Mill Street on last Monday, made a welfare check to a residence on the 100 block of East Maple Street, dispatched a sick raccoon that was found on the 400 block of East Chester Street on Thursday, responded to a gas drive off from Casey’s, recovered property on the 200 block of West Maple Street, responded to a call of criminal damage to property on the 11,500 block of Route 127, answered a call of a property dispute on the 100 block of North Grand Avenue and responded to a call of a suicidal subject at the apartment complex on the 300 block of West Saint Louis Street.  This is the 2nd such call in the past 4 weeks.  On Saturday, they initiated a traffic stop in town and cited a 17-year old male from DuQuoin for Disobeying Traffic Control and Improper Lane Usage, while issuing verbal warnings for Only Having One Red Taillight and No Rear Registration Plate Light.  A 17-year old male from DuQuoin in the vehicle at that time was arrested for Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Drug Equipment.
