On Friday, the Mount Vernon Police Department and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department will be conducting roadside safety checks in the Mount Vernon area.  Officers will be focusing on removing impaired drivers from the roadway, so be careful and be prepared to be stopped if you are headed that way.
