Washington County Treasurer, Kelly Cameron, announced that a real estate tax distribution of $10,181,885 was sent out last Friday.  The taxing districts have now received approximately 90 percent of the taxes levied for 2013, payable this year.  Taxes are now late and a penalty of 1.5 percent will now be added.  The delinquent tax list will be published on February 4, 2015 and the tax sale will be held on March 16, 2015.  Acceptable forms of payments are cash, check, cashier’s check and money order.  Payments can be made at the Courthouse Mondays through Fridays from 8 AM to 4 PM or by mail at Washington County Treasurer’s Office, 101 East Saint Louis Street, Nashville, IL 62263.  Make checks payable to the Washington County Treasurer.  If you would like a stamped receipt sent back to you, please enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope with your payment.  If you have any questions, call the Treasurer’s Office at 618-327-4800, extension 315.
