The Nashville Police Department was not as busy in the past week, as before, but they did respond to some accidents and made some arrests. They took a report of theft-forgery-fraud from a resident on West Maple Street, took a report of residential burglary and motor vehicle theft from another residence on West Maple Street, also on Wednesday, assisted the EMS with a call on the 600 block of West Lebanon Street, responded to the 100 block of East Saint Louis Street for an unruly subject, responded to the 400 block of East Elm Street for a property recovery, reported to a call of a suspicious person on the 100 block of North Mill Street and responded to the 800 block of South Mill Street for a verbal dispute. They also responded to Casey’s for gas drive offs on Thursday and Friday. They also made several arrests and responded to some accidents in the past week. One week ago, they responded to at 9-1-1 call from Little Nashville for a report of an unruly subject. They arrived on the scene and arrested 31-year old Jerald L. Phillips of Centralia for Aggravated Assault and Disorderly Conduct. There was an accident on Friday morning on Route 127, a quarter mile north of Enterprise Avenue, as a car driven by 52-year old George Phillips of Mount Vernon struck a semi driven by 48-year old James Reyes Senior of Kansas City, Kansas. Phillips was pronounced dead at the scene, while Reyes was not injured. They assisted the Washington County Sheriff’s Department with an accident on Sunday that involved 37-year old Rachel C. Jarret of Pinckneyville. That evening, they responded to a crash at the intersection of South Kaskaskia Street at East Lebanon Street. According to that report, a van driven by 72-year old Wesley R. Hampton of Nashville, was backing up through the intersection to turn around, but backed into an SUV driven by 37-year old Darrell W. Anderson of Nashville. There were no injuries reported or citations issued. That night, there was a traffic stop at Casey’ General Store on South Mill Street and 18-year old Brenis Mazariego of Nashville was arrested for Driving With No Valid Driver’s License and issued verbal warnings for No Rear Registration Plate Light and for Failure to Yield on a Private Drive. There was a domestic battery call at approximately 11 PM on Sunday at a residence on the 800 block of South Mill Street. 29-year old Michael A. Snider of Nashville allegedly battered his girlfriend, 28-year old Tiffany Frech, also of Nashville. 24-year old Brandi Kendall of Robinson reported that Snider allegedly pushed her to the ground also. He has been taken into custody on charges of Domestic Battery and Battery.
