On Wednesday, 52-year old Jimmy L. Richeson, Senior of Trenton was sentenced for his involvement in a methamphetamine offense, according to the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, Stephen R. Wigginton. Richeson, who had previously pled guilty to an indictment charging conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, was sentenced to 7 years in federal prison, to be followed by 3 years of supervised release and fined $200. The offense occurred between 2012 and March 2014, in Jackson, Randolph and Saint Clair Counties. Evidence at the plea and sentencing hearings established that Richeson was involved with co-defendants Allen and Carmen Clover and others in the manufacture of methamphetamine. Members of the group often traveled together to obtain pseudoephedrine, which they would later provide to methamphetamine manufacturers. Carmen Clover has previously been sentenced to nearly 5 years in prison for her role in the methamphetamine conspiracy. Allen Clover has pled guilty and is awaiting sentencing.
