It’s National Library Week and there is a week of activities at the Nashville Public Library.  First begun in 1958, it is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association, to celebrate the contributions of libraries and librarians, as well as to promote library use and support.  It begins tonight at 6 o’clock at the Nashville Public Library with “The Zoo” story time for children 4 to 7 years old.  Tomorrow night is the Barbara Kay presentation on the sinking of the Lusitania at 7 o’clock, please call for your reservation by this evening.  There is a fundraiser at the Nashville Dairy Queen on Wednesday night from 5 to 8 o’clock with money going to the library programs and activities.  They will have light refreshments from 10 AM to 1 PM on Thursday for anyone wanting to stop by and visit, while they will also show a newer version of the movie, Diary of Anne Frank at 7 PM.  On Friday, a representative from the Illinois Treasurer’s Office will be at the library for an I-Cash event to help local residents connect with their unclaimed property, which is at over $640,000 in Washington County.  On Saturday, the Friends of the Library will meet at 10:30 AM and anyone can attend to find out how to get more involved in the library and helping it with programs and events.  For more information, call the Nashville Public Library at 327-3827.
