Residents in the southern Illinois of Lebanon have unearthed the contents of a 1938 time capsule.  The Sunday event was part of the unveiling of Lebanon’s new $8.1 million elementary school.  The Belleville News-Democrat reports the time capsule was encased in the old school’s now-removed cornerstone.  The old school will be demolished in July.  The time capsule contained signatures of students, a thermometer and information about who built the school.  Voters approved a bond issue in 2009 to build the new school.  Students will start taking classes there in the fall.  About 330 of the district’s 650 students will attend the new school.
