The Washington County Relay For Life is tomorrow from 4 to 10 PM at the Nashville Primary School. It will be held rain or shine says Co-chair Nancy Newby. The relay is no longer an overnight event, so it will be more accommodating for people to stay to the end. There will be bands, a disc jockey, dancers, tumblers, Zumba and plenty of food. The event will kick off with the color guard and presentation of the flags, while the Survivor Lap will follow. The Luminaria Ceremony will begin at 8:30 PM and this is where they honor those that have battled cancer, some surviving and some falling to the disease. Luminarias can still be purchased at the event tomorrow night. Newby says the goal is to collect $80,000 this year, as they have raised over $1.2 million over the past 18 years. Teams are still able to get registered and do some fundraising throughout the summer months, as the total is not counted until August or September.
