The average price of a gallon of regular gasoline nationwide went up significantly in the past week, as it was at $2.40 per gallon, but went up to $2.49, while it was at $3.67 per gallon one year ago.  There was an increase in Illinois for the past week, as it went up from $2.54 per gallon of regular gas to $2.57 this past week.  It remained at $2.35 per gallon in Nashville this past week for the 3^rd week in a row.
