The West Washington County School District #10 Board of Education met Thursday night for the installation of those winners of the election earlier this month.  Ron Recker was re-elected and he is joined by new members Paul Jansen and Dennis Lintker.  Heather Todd and Dale Lake did not seek re-election.  Superintendent Scott Fuhrhop says the officers were then elected and Recker is again the President, while Lloyd Isringhaus is the Vice President and Jansen is the Secretary.  The Board approved of hiring Melissa Leadendecker as Treasurer for $1,400 for the year.  She has been at this position for many years and it is a part-time position.  They approved of the bid from Stalker Floors out of Wisconsin to refinish the gym floors for $3,175, as this is the company that originally put in the floor.  They also agreed to go with QNS for the campus’ wireless system in the amount of $64,000.  Fuhrhop says this will be for everything, including warranties and the money will come out of what they receive from the e-rate funding.  The Board approved the Student Handbook for the next school year without any big changes.  They also accepted the prevailing wage resolution for any work to be done on the school.  He also has drafted a letter about the flooring that they have had problems with since it was installed in the new building.  The letter is that they are rejecting how it turned out, as it will need to be redone or fixed to meet the original specifications.  He reported that there is an issue between the installers and the manufacturer, but they are caught in the middle.  The concession stand is almost done, but has been used during the baseball and softball seasons.  The Board also gave Fuhrhop the approval to look into an early childhood program as the numbers are expanding in the school district.  There are currently 2 children, but there are 3 or 4 more coming in.  Graduation is still set for May 17th at 2 PM for the high school and on May 21st for the 8th graders at 7 PM.  The last day of school is set for May 21st also.
