Three Nashville High School students competed in the WYSE Academic Challenge earlier this month at the University of Illinois and Alex Orr placed 5th in both chemistry and mathematics in the Division 700 school size. Also competing in chemistry and math were Aaron Czajkowski and Logan Czerniewjewski. Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering is an International program headquartered at the University of Illinois, offering the annual Academic Challenge competition, a summer camp and other programs. The immediate goal is to attract a greater number of talented and diverse students to careers in engineering and the sciences. The three had qualified after competing on March 9th at the WYSE sectional academic competition at McKendree University in Lebanon.
