The Saint Louis Cardinals beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 8 to 5 on Friday night, but lost the series after that, losing 7 to 5 on Saturday night and 4 to 3 yesterday.

The Nashville Hornet baseball team is in action today in Carterville.  The game is on the V and v1047.com at 4:30 PM, weather permitting.  Meanwhile, the JV game against Collinsville has been canceled.  The freshman – sophomore boys track meet at Pinckneyville will only have running events; no field events.
