The Hoyleton Grade School Board of Education met on Thursday night for a lengthy meeting says Superintendent Elaine Hemker.  She said the bulk of it was going through 3 pages of school items that the Board decided to get rid of.  This included going through the bids received for the portable buildings.  She said Tim Schnitker won both 24 by 60 foot trailers for $100 apiece.  Caitlin Schnitker won the greenhouse for $35 and Corey Miller won the 14 by 28 foot storage barn for $1,828.39.  Hemker talks about some items being donated.  The PTO purchased playground equipment, recycled plastic benches, tables, movie screen and other items, which will be donated to the Hoyleton Community Club or the Village Park.  The main building, will be auctioned off on June 30th.  There will be an open house on June 28th from 2 to 4 PM for those interested.  Other items, such as books, chairs, athletic things, freezers, and more were requested by other schools and individuals, so the Board went through this to approve of giving these items away.  Teachers will begin moving things out of their classrooms to Nashville Grade School on June 1st.  This includes computers, smartboards and whatever else they can use in their new classrooms.  HGS should be empty by July 1st.  Three Board members have expressed interest in being on the Nashville Grade School Advisory Board that will be part of the NGS Board of Education.  This includes Dave Hake, Kris Schnitker and Jody Smith.  Graduation is tonight at 7 PM for the five 8th graders and the last day of school is Thursday.
