The Illinois State Police report there was a two vehicle head on personal injury crash on Illinois Route 154 at Kane Lane in Randolph County, yesterday morning. The preliminary investigation indicates a car driven by 20-year old Jacquelyn N. Bailey of New Minden was east bound on Route 154 near Kane Lane and an SUV driven by 58-year old Carolyn S. Gramenz of Steeleville was west bound. The car entered the west bound lane into the path of the SUV after swerving to avoid a slower vehicle in front of it. The vehicles struck head on. Both vehicles received heavy damage and had to be towed from the scene. The roadway was closed for approximately 45 minutes for the crash investigation and scene clean up. All occupants were wearing seatbelts, but Bailey was transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Bailey was cited for Improper Lane Usage and Use of Unsafe Tires.
