The Washington County Sheriff’s Department was busy this past week with 4 accidents. One week ago, they reported a theft from a vehicle, as a spreader bar was taken from a company vehicle driven by 37-year old Brian M. Vedder of Lowell, Oregon, while it was parked in Ashley. They also arrested 30-year old Ryan D. Wooley of Okawville on an outstanding warrant and arrested 21-year old Kristen P. Rybicki of Ashley for Domestic Battery. On Wednesday, they assisted the Okawville Police with a domestic disturbance in Okawville. On Thursday, deputies arrested 28-year old Nicholas S. Bathon of Ashley for Driving While License Suspended and issued him a citation for speeding after initiating a traffic stop. They also removed a dead deer carcass from Route 15 at County Highway 11. On Friday, they responded to a resident of rural Nashville for a report of fraud and assisted the Okawville Police with a warrant arrest on Interstate 64. They responded to a residence on the 1100 block of West Broadway Street in DuBois about a lost animal found in Caseyville. Then on Sunday, the WCSO responded to a call of a possible fight in Irvington, took a report of burglary from a residence in rural Richview and took a report of burglary from a resident in Hoyleton.
