The Washington County Sheriff’s Department responded to only 1 accident in the past week, while also assisting 5 motorists.  The accident was on Sunday on Route 15, as a vehicle driven by 48-year old Lamar J. Brooks of Oakland, California had run off the side of the road.  He was arrested for DUI, Improper Lane Usage, Driving While License Suspended and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis.  No injuries were reported.   On June 5th, they arrested 26-year old Bryan A. Walton of Wamac for a Washington County Failure to Appear warrant.  Last Tuesday, deputies assisted with a property exchange in Irvington, responded to a juvenile complaint in rural Addieville and assisted the Washington County Ambulance Service with a call to a residence in rural Addieville.  On Thursday, they took a report of Criminal Damage to Property at a residence in Hoyleton and provided traffic control on Route 15, while a semi-tractor trailer truck was being repaired.  The Sheriff’s Department was busy on Friday, as they arrested Kevin M. Pickering of Albion on an outstanding Failure to Appear warrant, took reports of fraud from a resident of rural Okawville and a business in rural Marissa, made a welfare check at a residence in Irvington, and assisted a few motorists.  On Saturday, deputies assisted EMS on a call in Hoyleton, made a traffic stop on 27-year old Cevin L. Dugan of Germantown and cited him for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and gave him a verbal warning for Failure to Dim Headlights When Required.  They also assisted the Okawville Police Department with a domestic disturbance in Okawville.  On Sunday, they responded to a report of suspicious activity in Irvington and responded to a report of a fight in Okawville and assisted the OPD.
