The race for Superintendent for the Regional Office of Education #13, which now includes Clinton, Jefferson, Marion and Washington Counties, was won by Ron Daniels over incumbent Keri Garrett in November of last year.  This morning at 8:30 at the Salem County Clerk’s Office in the Salem Courthouse, Daniels will be (was) sworn in as the new Superintendent by the Salem County Clerk.  Daniels says the largest area of population is in Marion County and the Salem Office will be the main R.O.E. #13 Office, but he will also spend time at the one in Carlyle, Mount Vernon and Nashville, especially in Carlyle and Salem for the majority of time early on.  His assistant, Melanie Andrews will be stationed at the Salem office.  Daniels was Superintendent of the Jefferson – Hamilton County R.O.E., but that was split due to consolidation in 2013, which also takes effect today.  There were 44 R.O.E. districts, but they have been consolidated into 35 districts now.  Such swearing in ceremonies will take place today for 35 Regional Superintendent of Schools for their four-year terms.
