Stephen R. Wigginton, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, announced Friday that 36-year old Jayme Lee Barnes of Centralia, Illinois, was sentenced to 5 years in federal prison, to be followed by 4 years of supervised release, a $200 fine and a $200 special assessment. There is no parole in the federal system. Court records showed that on June 9, 2015, Barnes entered a guilty plea to an indictment charging her and others with Conspiracy to Manufacture and Distribute Methamphetamine, and Possession of a Listed Chemical, being Pseudoephedrine, Knowing It Would Be Used to Manufacture a Controlled Substance. The conspiracy is alleged to have existed from February 28 through October 1, 2014, in Marion and Clinton Counties.
