The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that U.S. Highway 51 in Ashley will be closed at 8 AM today for 1 day, weather permitting. This is necessary to allow Illinois Central Railroad Company to repair and fix up the railroad crossing there.  A marked detour will be in place to route motorists through the area.  Motorists are asked to be patient and use extreme caution in this work area.
