Precipitation in Washington County was nearly nonexistent in October, with the lowest amount since the drought of 2012.  According to readings taken by the City of Nashville Water Plant, there were just 0.6 inches of rain, much lower than September’s 5.79 inches of rain.  Last October there was 5.19 inches of rain.  Rain last month fell the most with 0.39 inches on the 28th.  There was also 0.2 inches of rain on Halloween.  To date, there has been 39.59 inches of rain for the year, about 3 and a half inches more than this time last year.  High temperatures were mostly in the 70s with some days in the 80s, but more days in 60s than the 80s.  The high temperature though was 82 degrees on October 23rd, but the high was only 53 degrees on the 4th, as it really fluctuated during the month.  Low temperatures were mostly in the 40s, with nearly as many nights in the 50s, but the lowest was 30 degrees on October 19th.  In October 2014, the high was 85 and the low was 36 degrees.  The average high temperature last month was 68.7 degrees, down 13 and a half degrees from September, while the average low temperature in October was at 46 degrees, down 14 and a half degrees from the previous month, so it was really cooling down.
