The Washington County Sheriff’s Department was busy the past week as they assisted some motorists and responded to some accidents, but one week ago they also assisted the Okawville Police Department on a call.  On Wednesday, they assisted the Nashville Police Department with a traffic stop and took a theft report occurring at a business in rural Centralia.  On Thursday, deputies responded to a call of suspicious activity in rural Richview, took a report of damage to property occurring in rural Centralia, arrested 32-year old Stacy Anderson of Belleville on a warrant and assisted the OPD with a domestic disturbance.  42-year old Anthony R. Bruns of Okawville was arrested and charged with domestic battery.  On Friday, they returned a phone call to a resident of Addieville in reference to a possible phone scam and initiated a traffic stop, which resulted in the arrest of 59-year old Robert Lopez Junior of Washington Park for DUI, as well as cited him for Failure to Yield at an Intersection and Illegal Transportation of Alcohol.  Deputies were busy over the weekend as on Saturday they assisted the OPD with a traffic stop on Interstate 64, took a report of a person attempting to break into cars on East Saint Louis Street in Okawville, responded to Okawville for report of a burglary to a motor vehicle, went to a domestic disturbance in rural Nashville and arrested Brenden M. Hopkins on a Washington County warrant.  On Sunday, the WCSD took another report of burglary to a motor vehicle, took a report of burglary from a shed in rural Centralia, arrested 26-year old Blake D. Howell of Mount Vernon for an outstanding Washington County warrant, responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the Ashley area, went to the call of a domestic dispute in Richview and responded to a domestic dispute in rural DuBois.
