According to a press release from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, on Monday, a grand jury met in Washington County. After being presented the case and deliberating, an indictment was handed down charging 29-year old Keith R. Addison of Nashville with 2 counts of Arson. These charges are the result of an investigation into the fire that destroyed Traveler’s Restaurant near Du Bois on February 9th, 2015. He was arraigned in court and released on a $50,000 recognizance bond. On February 24, 2015, Addison was arrested by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office for two counts of burglary. One of the counts was for the burglary that occurred at Traveler’s Inn Restaurant on U.S. 51 near Du Bois, allegedly on the same morning as the fire. The second count was for a burglary to another building also in the Du Bois area. The cause of the fire at Traveler’s was under investigation all this time and Addison had not been charged with that fire until now. Addison’s bond then was set at $50,000. The fire at the restaurant broke out on February 9th at about 4:30 AM. The back of the structure suffered the most damage, but the roof and front sustained damage, as it was a total loss. Units were called back later that afternoon and again late at night as the fire had begun again.
