The number of animals that need homes that are at the Washington County Animal Shelter has decreased slightly in the past week.  No dogs found homes and 1 new dog was brought in, that being a black – brindle Pit Bull, so the number of dogs has gone up to 6.  Last week there were 6 cats available, but 2 found homes, so there are now 4 cats available, meaning there are 10 animals at the shelter that need homes this holiday season, some which will make a nice late Christmas present for someone.  Dog adoption fee is $30, which includes an A.V.I.D. Identification Chip.  In addition, new owners will receive a certificate for $50 off spaying or neutering.  Pictures are available online at www.petfinder.com and type in 62263 at the first space in the upper left.  The shelter also is a place to drop off aluminum cans for recycling.  They then use the money from this to help pay for expenses of housing the cats and dogs.  It is located at 17,990 Richview Road in Nashville.  For more information, call 327-4800, extension 355.Henry
