Precipitation in Washington County was high in November with the 3rd highest amount of 2015, but December’s rainfall surpassed that by an inch, making it now the 3rd highest for the year.  According to readings taken by the City of Nashville Water Plant, there was 7.7 inches of rain, compared to 6.77 in November.  Last December there was 4.13 inches of rain and 3 inches of snow.  Rain last month fell the most with 2.81 inches on the 27th, the 2nd most rain in one day for the whole year.  It was followed by 1.85 inches the next day.  2015 ends with 54.06 inches of rain, the most since 2011, and it was at 42.26 inches in 2014.  The year finished with 12.9 inches of snow, all in the first 3 months.  High temperatures were mostly in the 60s with nearly as many days in the 40s.  The high temperature though was 71 degrees on December 13th.  Low temperatures were equally in the 40s and 30s, with the lowest of 24 degrees on December 4th and 5th.  In December 2014, the high was 70 and the low was 14 degrees.  The average high temperature last month was 52.2, down 6 degrees from November, even if it felt warmer, while the average low temperature last month was at 36.2 degrees, down 4 degrees from the previous month.
