The number of animals that need homes that are at the Washington County Animal Shelter was unchanged in the past week. 2 dogs found homes, but 2 new young dogs were brought in, that being a Pit Bull and a pit mix, so the number of dogs remained at 6. Last week there were 6 cats available and there are still 6 cats available, meaning there are 12 animals at the shelter that need homes this holiday season. It’s not too late to provide someone with a nice late Christmas present of one of these animals. Dog adoption fee is $30, which includes an A.V.I.D. Identification Chip. In addition, new owners will receive a certificate for $50 off spaying or neutering. Pictures are available online at www.petfinder.com and type in 62263 at the first space in the upper left. The shelter also is a place to drop off aluminum cans for recycling. They then use the money from this to help pay for expenses of housing the cats and dogs. It is located at 17,990 Richview Road in Nashville. For more information, call 327-4800, extension 355.
