The Hoyleton Grade School has closed and the students are now going to Nashville Grade School, but they still received a statewide report card for 2014-2015.  It showed that there were 54 students, down 4 from the previous school year with an average class size of 8 students, down 1 from the previous year.  The school had an attendance rate of 95 percent, down 2 percent from 2013-2014, while the State rate is at 94 percent.  The percentage of students at the school that met or exceeded the standards of the PARCC test was 27 percent, lower than the State rate of 33 percent.  It was the first year for the PARCC test for the school and no one is relying too much on those scores this year.  72.2 percent of the students attending were from low income families, while it was at 62 percent in 2013-2014.  7 percent were homeless, up 4 percent from the 2013-2014 school year and 37 percent had disabilities, while it was at 48 percent the previous year.  It cost more in 2014-2015 to educate a student at Hoyleton Grade School than the previous school year, going up from $7,521 per student to teach them to $8,237, while the state mark is at $7,419.  It went up from $14,045 per student to operate the school to $15,734, as the state mark is $12,521, so both years were high.  The school was above the state levels in some areas it needed to be, but below in areas it needed to be, so it was an acceptable report card for HGS’s final year.
