Prospective Fall 2016 students have only weeks left to submit an application for approximately 300 Rend Lake College Foundation scholarships.  The application, which helps students apply for numerous scholarships at one time, is due Sunday, February 28^th.  Interested students can submit the application online at www.rlc.edu/rlcf.  The single-page application takes only minutes to complete, and students must submit their most recent transcript and one letter of recommendation to be considered.  Scholarship recipients will be selected based on the criteria set forth by each scholarship.  High school students will be informed of their awards at their high school honors nights, with letters being sent out after May 1^st.  Applications will be accepted after the February 28^th due date, however, preference will be given to students who meet the due date.  Every year, approximately $450,000 is awarded to RLC students through Foundation scholarships.  Over 500 scholarships and academic awards that generally range from $500 to $1,500 annually are made possible by generous, local businesses and individuals.  Scholarship awards include endowed scholarships, annual scholarships, or one-time scholarships.  In addition, academic awards are given by RLC for outstanding achievement.  More information on how to apply can be found at www.rlc.edu/foundation or by contacting the Foundation at 618-437-5321, extension 1214.
