James L. Porter, Acting United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, announced that on Tuesday, 35-year old Anthony M. Allen of Caseyville, was sentenced for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Previously Convicted Felon. Allen was sentenced to 6 months in federal prison and 6 months of home detention, to be followed by 3 years of supervised release, along with a $150 fine and a $100 special assessment. Allen, who has been detained since November 16, 2015, also agreed to forfeit the illegal firearm that he possessed. Court proceedings revealed that Allen, a previously convicted felon, was pulled over by Collinsville police officers for erratic driving on January 7, 2015. After Allen was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, police found a firearm and ammunition in his vehicle.
