The Oakdale Grade School Board of Education met on Monday night and Superintendent Charles Peterson reported that attendance remains at 77 students.  He said there was more discussion on the possibility of purchasing some buses, instead of contracting out services, but there is still a contract for the remainder of this year, so they still have time.  Peterson says he will get more information gathered, but finding a place to store the buses is an issue, as they could build something or look to rent some place or even buy some land.  There were also a couple of questions for the bus salesman.  No action was taken on the topic last night.  The Board did agree to a 3-year contract with auditors Scheffel Boyle.  They had looked around at other companies in an effort to save some money, but stayed with Scheffel Boyle, as they have been happy with their work the past 2 years.  The Board also hired Wendy Bergmann as the head volleyball coach and approved of volunteer Leigh Ann White as an assistant volleyball coach.  They also approved of having a school dance on February 26th from 6 to 9:30 PM for students in 5th through 8th grades.  They might even invite students from other schools to it, but details have not been worked out yet.  There is a long weekend coming up for the students, as school gets out at 11:30 on Friday, due to teacher in-service in the afternoon, and then it is Martin Luther King Junior Day on Monday, so the students don’t go back to school until Tuesday.  The next Board meeting is on February 8th at 7:30 PM.
