The Nashville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors met yesterday and got ready for the Volunteer of the Year voting to take place at next Wednesday’s general membership meeting.  They went through the letters received on behalf of the nominees and there will be 4 to choose from with the vote by the general members of the Chamber.  Director Doris Povolish reported that membership is up to 85 now with a couple more new members, being Innovative Staff Solutions and Mandi Povolish with the Final Cut.  The membership drive continues this month.  The Chicken & Beer Dance is coming up on Saturday, February 27th at the American Legion in Nashville.  County Road Cruizers will be performing that night.  There will also be a wine walk.  Get your tickets by calling the Chamber office at 327-3700.  There could be several ribbon cutting ceremonies in the months to come, so be prepared to come out and welcome new businesses or owners.  Dates of other Chamber events include Reality Day for 8th graders in all the Nashville schools on April 12th at the Community Center, Spring Madness in downtown Nashville and other locations on April 15th from 5 to 8 PM and the golf outing to be on June 2nd at the Nashville Municipal Golf Course.  There has been very little participation in the Chamber’s Gateway Grizzlies promotion, so the Board decided to not do it this year.  Don’t forget the General Membership meeting to vote on the Volunteer of the Year is on Wednesday, February 10th at noon at Little Nashville.
